Went in for an eyebrow piercing, the process was super quick and easy, Dwane was very relaxed and fun throughout the process which made me a lot more relaxed. I've had absolutely no problems with the piercing and it barely hurt when I got pierced. I'll definifely be coming back for my next piercing.

I went to Modified Monkey to buy new jewellery for my nose piercing after my old jewellery had fallen out. Dwane was incredibly helpful and very professional. The piercing site had shrunk a bit and Dwane was able to fit my new jewellry with minimal discomfort. All in all, it was a great experience and by far one of the best experiences I've had with a body piercer. I'll definitely be going back. (Also, all of their jewellery is made from titanium and is very affordable in comparison to their competitors.)

Dwayne from Modified Monkey recently pierced my daughter’s conch and it really was the most fantastic experience! She wasn’t sure what she wanted and was very nervous and Dwayne reassured her at every turn and talked her through exactly what piercings he would recommend and why. He is so knowledgeable and professional, seriously one of the best we have ever been to. When it came time for the piercing, he kept her calm with his dad jokes 😂 and he was the ultimate pro! I got my belly peirced by Dwane a couple days ago, and I highly recommend going to him for your next peircing. He's extremely friendly and I was very nervous as I have a fear of needles and he made sure I felt comfortable the entire time. I've never had such a wonderful experience with peircers, he made sure to take his time and make sure everything was done properly. He spend time measuring which I really appreciate and the process was completely painless. Even now, the peircing barely hurts and there's no swelling at all. Dwane is extremely professional and he was making jokes the whole time to ease my fear. I will 100% be going to him again for any future peircings

Its rare that I find a studio where advanced piercings are available in Gauteng. So I did my research and I found a reputable piercing studio (Modified Monkey) I made a booking for nipple piercings and a VCH piercing on their website. I then recieved an immediate response when I messeged on Whatsapp. Upon confirming Dwane sent a file informaing me how to come prepared for my appointment. At each step I felt safe and in good hands. When I arrived at the studio, Alex opened up (Thank you, Alex). All the staff are proffesional, friendly and always willing to answer any questions you may have. Now This is important! The environment of the studio is clean and sterile. I felt comfortable and safe as much as I was excited to get my piercings. Dwane is great! He knows what he doing. He checked my anatomy properly before going ahead with the piercings. He also made sure to have jewelry options ready that fit my style. I felt calm throughout and before I knew it the piercings were done. Dwane then gave aftercare instructions before I proceeded with payment. Best day ever! Fantastic service. Dwane helped fix up my nose piercing from a previously bad piercing that was done elsewhere which I was suffering with for months. I struggled with on going infections and swelling and being uncomfortable continuously. He fixed it up beautifully and I can already see and feel the difference. I am an absolute nervous wreck with this stuff and I was so comfortable and calm throughout the experience. I regret terribly not going to him the first time but I am so glad I found him and I will definitely be back for more. Thank you so much Dwane!

One small change, one fresh piercing… and suddenly the whole ear feels different. This appointment started with a downsize for the helix. Once the shorter bar was fitted, we upgraded the jewellery to the Petal Fan Top and then added a fresh conch piercing to bring everything together. What an awesome appointment this one was. I love it when clients come back for downsizing and then decide to get another piercing because the first two are healing so well. Three months ago we pierced the helix and flat, and this week it was time to downsize both bars. Downsizing isn’t just about making a piercing more comfortable, it also allows the jewellery to sit the way it was designed to. With everything healing beautifully, we could finally add the finishing touch… a fresh conch piercing. This isn’t a stretch… IT WAS A 6mm LOBE PUNCH. Last Wednesday, I had the opportunity to perform a 6mm lobe punch for Bansho , followed immediately by the insertion of implant-grade titanium tunnels for healing. Julian wanted his tunnels to be gold, and because we were using titanium, we were able to anodise them to 65 volts, giving them that rich gold hue without compromising the material. This procedure isn’t for everyone and shouldn’t be taken lightly. A section of tissue is removed during the procedure and, should you ever wish to reverse it, it can only be reattached surgically. Because of this, it’s a long-term commitment and something that requires careful consideration. After numerous discussions and assessing Julian’s anatomy, we decided that starting his journey at 6mm was the best option for him. He may decide to go bigger in the future, but for now, he’s happy to enjoy the 6mm look. For me, body modification has never been about performing the biggest or most extreme procedures. It’s about understanding anatomy, respecting the craft, and delivering work that is both technically sound and built to last. Watching the transformation happen was incredible, but seeing Bansho leave with exactly what he had envisioned was the best part. Thank you for putting your trust in me, Bansho. And a huge thank you to kylebtattoo for allowing us to invade your beautiful studio to perform the procedure. They’re just enough to catch your eye without stealing the show, while the Front & Side Pavé Clicker gives the conch the attention it deserves. I had so much fun styling this ear with my client, Mel. We played around with a few different ideas before finally settling on this combination… and I absolutely love how it came together. For this project, we added three fresh piercings and built the look around Gold PVD jewellery from Adora Jewels In the tragus, we used the Marquise CZ Cluster with Round Centre. The Triple Bezel Gradient found its home in the high conch (still one of my personal favourites)😍, and we finished everything off with the Bezel Set Pear in the lower conch. I love having the opportunity everyday to be able to help clients build something that’s unique to them. It’s not about choosing the biggest or flashiest jewellery—it’s about creating a look where every piece works together. One of the best parts of a healed piercing… The jewellery upgrade. This client’s daith had healed beautifully, so it was finally time to swap the starter jewellery for something with a little more personality.
